About
Our natural, nurturing soaps
My name is Bea and I’m the founder of Mama Bee Soaps. I’m passionate about natural living – and I discovered the benefits of using handmade soap through my mum, who’s an avid soap maker.
I’m also very passionate about bees and the skin-loving benefits of Raw Honey. In my soaps I bring together the nourishing and moisturising power of Raw Honey and the finest natural ingredients to create gentle and luxurious soap that’s good for your skin as well as the environment.
My soaps are made in small batches using a traditional cold process method – with lots of care and attention. I control the temperatures to preserve the innate qualities of all the natural ingredients as much as possible. I use a variety of skin-loving plant oils to make my soaps – organic Shea butter, Apricot Kernel oil, Avocado oil and other pure essential oils and natural extracts. These add scent, colour and skin benefits, before each bar is enriched with sustainably-sourced Raw Honey and slowly cured for 4-6 weeks. Each soap is lovingly created and unique in nature, varying slightly in size and appearance.
I hope you enjoy using Mama Bee Soaps just as much I enjoy making them for you!
A skin-loving remedy
Raw Honey has been used as a skin-loving remedy since the Egyptian times – and is increasingly being used in skincare products for its amazing properties. Research in modern medicine shows just how healing Raw Honey can be for treating wounds, scars and burns – due to its antioxidant, antibacterial and humectant (moisture-retaining) properties.
How is it raw?
Raw Honey is the type of honey that hasn’t been treated by heat, so it still has its full complement of antioxidants, enzymes and anti-bacterial properties. The antioxidants help to combat free radicals that damage skin and also act as a natural humectant – drawing moisture from the air and leaving your skin feeling hydrated and fresh.
Nutrient benefits
Raw Honey also contains beneficial enzymes, amino acids, pollen and traces of nutrients from both the bees and the plants they consume. Because of this Raw Honey acts as a nutrient supply for new tissue growth, helping to protect and rejuvenate your skin.
